Please help chosing a graphics card! CONFUSED!

Hi all hope all is going well :)

I am basically looking for a graphics card for bf3 that is best bang for the buck! After weeks of reading i have come across people mentioning the 6950's being the best for the money, also with the fact its 2gb ram as i heard bf3 is Vram hungary. [Looking at the MSI 6950 TFIII power edition]

However, there is also the 560 ti 2gb version of the msi which has got me thinking!

Im just so confused on between the two i dont know what to order ! I found Nvidia 570 graphics card going for 245 but im worried on the 1.2 vram as i strongly belive in 'Future proofing'. I would strongly appreciate any advice thanks!
 
Just wondering if it is still possible to unlock the 6950 shaders to a 6970 as i heard they lazer cut the cards now to prevent it?

That was "revision1" cards, no longer available, there is a Sapphire TOXIC that can (if you lucky) unlock , but its not listed at OCUk any more it seems, besides...a GTX570 is still a better gaming experience than a 6970 in BF3.

but is that 60+ fps thats what im worried about :S

did you read the links above?

the 560ti is a long way from the fps you want

( i know this is probably over the res the OP is playing at, im comparing them against eachother)
 
I'm sure I've seen the graphics card section some where ;)

don't let harmony hear you talking about vram ;)

if you're playing on 1080p you'll be more than fine with the 1.28gb of the 570 if you go for it, just remember if you plan on sli in future the triple slot of the £245 card will restrict air flow.

Did you read my question to the OP about what resolution his screen is? which is the key thing, also he never said what sort of settings he wants to use.

Am I missing something here?

He asked which is better.

I said Nvidia seem to offer a better experience, with the links.

He then asks for 60+ fps.

I ask him what resolution his screen is.


Somewhere amongst this you pop in and say my post with the links to the articles show the cards dont provide the frame rate after he asked for. after he asked for 60fps.
 
the resoloution im playing at is 1920x 1080p. I would love to play on high for the eye candy! But i just want to invest in a card that will last for a while thats why im looking at 2gb vram. Im kinda leaning more towards the at 6950 due to my mobo having xfire support so in the future i can pop an extra card in. Just thinking what u guys would honestly do: 560 2gb vs 6950 2gb or fork out the extra 20-30 quid ish for the 570?

lol what the hell are you two on about ? anyway i forgot to mention i dont really wnt to spend over £230 at the max. Just thinking out of the 560 2g or 6950. Just really want to know what to chose out of them two :S or just forking out the extra 30 quid for a 570?

Still performs better than ATI equivalents at all resolutions, then if you look at the other big game "skyrim"

Get the GTX560ti 2Gb then.


Oh and Harmony/drifting/thinkfly or what ever user name he/she decided to use was a uber troll who didnt like cards with less than 1.5GB Vram.
