Please help, Gumtree sales and getting paid?

Phone your bank and get them to put a stop on your card NOW.

Ignoring than the fact the url you have pasted is "Qumtree", there shouldn't be any reason for you to enter your card details if you are the seller, if you've also entered the 3 digit security code from the back of the card then they have everything they need to use it online (assuming they have your name & address/postcode from "arranging collection"?)

Started a scan just in case any virus/malware/spyware etc infected iMac.

Bank card stopped just in case, but no I hadn’t inputted my cards details or anything it’s just how the screen was worded.

Little bit of a revival.
Bank transfer should be OK shouldn't it? By faster payments at least. Once it is visible in your account you can hand over the item?

No as they maybe using stolen bank details.

As in.. The buyer may be paying the seller through stolen details?
Isn't that a big "what if"? Surely they could be buying with stolen cash.

I was thinking along the lines of the security of bank transfer - can they be reversed etc.

I am sure I read if you use PP and link to the Gumtree page from at both ends you are covered.

Nah gumtree +pp and pickup you have no proof of delivery

Same with gumtree +pp and the buyer offering to arrange a courier, typically a scam.

Gumtree cash on collection/dropoff only.
If large amounts of cash then meet up at bank and withdraw cash there and then.

Yes, as the previous poster said, if it was found the money was sent fraudulently, then the bank could reverse the payment leaving you out of pocket. They obviously cannot do that with cash.

Besides with all the new polymer notes, it's very unlikely that there will be fakes out there yet. Just check the relevant markers etc.

Oh right. That's concerning. Bank transfer isn't as reliable as I had been led to believe.
