So I just bought the Razer Carcharias OMG the USB hissing is doing my head in, I received them today and even when the 2 jack plugs are removed from the sound card I have this awful hissing/interference in both ears. At first I thought it was the sound card so I removed it from the case and tried the on board sound same thing, then re-installed Asus sound card then I could still hear the noise though no jacks were plugged in, I removed the USB from the PC case and plugged it into a 3 pin USB plug the sound is still there.

So I have some crap USB interference issue, going to send this headset back did not know it was bloody USB powered, so what should I buy now I do not want it to be USB powered

Please help I want too jump of a cliff

Sounds like a rubbish headset to me, which is a shame as the previous version was a decent headset. Someone else had the same problem with the new Carcharias. He also tried other USB power sources, and found the result was the same.

If you don't need it to work with Xbox, I'd grab a Sennheiser headset.

Sennheiser U320 Multi-Platform Headset

These are also USB so that does worry me, but if you say Sennheiser is much better I will order these

I'm guessing that you need a multi platform headset then? If so, I would expect the U320's to be better than the new Carcharias. USB can be problematic in regards to interference noise. Normally though, that isn't a fault of the headset.

PC USB can be noisy and dirty when used for sound. Using a mains powered USB charger normally solves the problem. In the case of the new Carcharias, it would appear the headset is the problem, seeing that others have the same problem, regardless of the USB power source used.

If you don't need multi platform, I'd save some money and get the normal 320's.
