Okay, I'm looking to build a gaming pc and I want to know the best computer I can build with a budget of £600. I can stretch the budget to around £800 if it's beneficial to spend a bit more to maximise performance. I have peripherals so that doesn't need to be taken into consideration with the budget.
Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't get a 512gb SSD if I was having to make do with a 770.

Shrink it and get a 780 assuming they're still about for around £200

This is what i would get it should be pretty quiet (once the fan profiles set up) and will be very fast for gaming and have good airflow and cooling. With games like cod using more than 4gb of Vram nowdays the 390 will do much better in the years to come than a 970 and performs better in some games but for the most part is basically the same in performance. If you need to install windows put it onto a usb.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £812.27
(includes shipping: £13.20)

Let's hope He doesn't need a copy of Windows.

No point in the thermal paste. The cooler has it's own.

If you are going to spend that much on a psu, then you want something better.

Hello, I'm new, but thought I'd participate a potential build I would consider, mean there is the R9 380 gaming for similar price or could go for a more expensive gpu, but this would be somewhat in the middle I suppose

My basket

Total: £746.64
(includes shipping: £14.70)

Forget that case actually, itx be wasted, this is a itx case that will pack everything else properly.

The psu and cooler won't fit in that case.

Well he can add the copy of windows in then lol and i picked the psu as i have experience with it and know that it is of quality and also ive heard from some people that the cooler does not come with thermal paste so im not sure it might or might not but 3 pounds premium thermal paste isnt going to do any harm lol I think my spec reks yours lol GG EZ

Considering you are already over the op's maximum budget, how are you going to add a copy of Windows (Assuming He needs it) ?

The EVGA G2 is an extra £5 and is much better unit. It doesn't cheap out on the caps like the NEX does.

The BeQuiet cooler has a thermal pad already applied.

Well that's up to him if its purely for gaming and nothing important there are ways of obtaining windows for free or he could use his code from another device and reactivate on the new pc. And thanks but yh thats just what i would get if i was him well something like that i would spend a lot more than 5 mins picking the parts but i know all that stuff is good and would defo be good for some serious gaming on a pc.

the original case i selected, the cube Kolink was the better choice then  despite better for a m-atx boards.

glad that was summed up as i want contemplating a smaller case.

The Cougar case says a maximum of 140mm for the psu, and the Seasonic is 160mm long. The maximum cpu cooler is listed as 105mm and the Raijintek is 136mm tall.

If you wanted to keep the Cougar case, then you would need to go with a low profile cooler and a shorter length psu.
