Please Help me decide Ultrawide QD-OLED

I would not have consider upgrading if not for the price. Although still not great

I'm coming from 2x 27" 165Hz 1440p IPS panel, so to 5120x1440p is just combining the 2 into one. Main upgrade for me is OLED, that i am very excited for.
I went from 2 x 27 too
One ips one mini led
The oled is definitely better but I wouldn't say
I was blown away by the difference
Though mine weren't 8 year old panels
And the mini led is pretty good

And to be fair I am old
And probably don't see things as well as
Younger eyes do lol
I do prefer the one bigger screen though

on a desktop it's not really noticeable that much imo

but in a 4k HDR movie absolutely amazing, I watched Civil War last night, pretty crap movie but it's really well shot and colourised
The contrast and blacks look 10/10.

I was going to move on to starship troopers 4k HDR because i've never watched it before, but the damn movie has terrible film grain.... how can people watch film grain on an oled... it looked bloody horrible

Umm, sorry to hijack the topic guys but does any of you have any experience with the Gigabyte MO34WQC? Anything I should be careful about? This thing is waaay cheaper than AW3423DWF where I live as we can't buy directly from Dell and there are barely any deals...

I reckon this is practically the same 1st gen panel and I'd bite at that price, it also looks the cleanest design-wise out of all the monitors I've seen. I missed the promo on 341CQP but that has an enormous stand anyways and the LG 34GS95 has an 800r curve, otherwise that'd be my pick.

Sorry for hijacking again...

I actually messed around with the settings last night
Changed from true black 400
To whatever the other option was
Totally brain dead today and can't remember 1000 nits or something
But it actually had a huge impact on the in game colours
Though didn't seem to do as much to YouTube hdr videos for
Some reason

If it's same panel as the dwf
Main thing would be text clarity/fringing

I have the 341cqp
Didn't even look at the stand
A cheap £20 desk monitor arm works fine with it
It's back down to £600 last time I looked
The increase to £900 was just ridiculous

I refuse to buy a monitor with a crap ugly stand.

sure you can buy a new stand, but it's included in the price, I ain't paying twice for something

I don't find those V shaped stands ugly
I bought the AW3225QF because I thought the V shape legs on it looked the neatest.

The one that are like a dinner tray..... not hanks they always look the ugliest plastic too
also if the stands not symmetrical with the legs it just triggers me as annoying, I think the asus rog one was like that, and also had a light shining down onto the desk

The dells one nice and stylish

Yeah, it's 100% the same panel and I'm aware of the fringing issue but it's mainly for media/gaming with 20-30% of web browsing and Ableton Live for music making and sequencing outboard instruments.

I just need the stock stand because I don't want to use an arm and the Gigabyte fits the bill with the stand footprint and it's like 520 quid now.

TBH, not a huge fan of the V-shaped stands but don't hate them, the one on the MSI is just pure overkill though. The best looking UWs are the AW3423 and LGs 34GS95B that's also on sale now but I'm super-unsure about going 800R on 34", seems too extreme, and the Dell is just too expensive around here to be worth it.

Have to think it through, I just wanted the cheapest QD-OLED possible as they're all gen 1 anyways so that I don't regret the purchase and don't baby it around too much in fear of burn-in. Never had a QD-OLED yet, just an LG Oled tv so I thought it's a nice moment to jump on one.

If the Gigabyte doesn't suffer from any serious issues, then it'd be a nice option but it's hard to find any decent reviews or opinions.

Yeah just personal preference
But for me the curve on the 341cpq is enough
I wouldn't want it more severely curved

It's home:

1800R is very easy to accustom to, only been using it a few hours and its seems natural now.

Well, the MO34WQC got discounted even further so i snagged one... and cancelled the order a couple of hours later.

Might have been a bad move but I guess I was unsure about it, there's very little in the way of opinions about it.

Considering the Evnia 8600 now, quite like the design and the Ambiglow is a bonus. Still a lot cheaper than the AW3423DWF round here and there's at least a lot more about it on the interwebs.

I'll never get a new monitor at this rate but I just don't know what to get ar this point:P
