Please help me find the right SSD

Hi guys,

My bro wants to upgrade to an SSD since his HDD now does about 28/30 read/write and he's still got windows xp, So I advised him to buy an SSD and put windows 7 on there.

But having trouble what SSD to recommend him. He uses the computer for heavy gaming, such as dead space 2, world of warcraft, Fallout 3, oblivion many others.

could you reccomend me one with sata 3 and around 60-120GB with fast read write speeds? I was looking at the agility 3 series but I looked on another thread and it seemed that SSD had a few problems.

what about two samsung F3 i have them set up in a Riad 0 they are getting max 275 read and avarage of 227 access time 13.7. This would give him space for all games but will only be slower booting windows

It's not the speed that makes the difference, it's the access time...

Go with an SSD.. Since he has Sata 3 I would recommend a Vertex 3, or a Crucial M4 or Intel 510 Series.

Vertex 3 seemed to have some problems, but I reckon there are some tweaks and is fine now. Crucial I haven't heard anything bad about them... except slow writes (which are not the most important thing in an SSD anyway. Intel have good speeds as well and as you probably know, they are the most reliable. As with an Agility 3... too much DOA drives for my taste, I wouldn't risk it.
 
Vertex 3 is your not on a budget, if your on a budget then either the M4 or Intel 510. All three will serve you well although the Vertex 3 is the fastest of the lot.
