my AMD system is now gettng alittle long in the tooth.

Current build

Chieftec Dragon with Hyper R type 580
ASUS A8n32-sli
AMD X2 4200, 2GB DDR RAM.
2x Maxtor 7200 Drives in Raid 0
ATI 1950 Pro

Looking to spend in the region of 300-450

Not sure if I should go intel or AMD. The AMD boards seem to be cheaper and I have always been an AMD person in the past. I am not really an overclocker, although I am considering it in the future. However I am tempted by some of the Intel chips, the E6750 from the looks of it has good potential.

Please recommened me build. Prefferably intel. I not bothered about a board which has SLI/Crossfire at this time. I plan to put in a 8800 or equaliant in the future, for now I will be sticking with my ATI 1950. (will save money for now)

I do not need the following

TFT
Keyboard / mouse
VGA card.
Hard drives.

In addition. I would be looking to sell my current build. From past upgrade expirence, but I am not entirely sure I think it may be better to strip the system down and sell off the components individually. I would offer to sell it here on the forums but do not have 250 posts to use the members market yet.

i'd look at swapping the 6750 for the quad 6600, maybe the ocz psu for the corsair 520w, mobo have a look at the abit ip35 unless you want the wifi supplied on the asus.

have a look at the antec p182 case.

you'll need the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro cooler not the 64 ;), if you can have a look at the tuniq's.

How about this -

looking good, I like the look of the board plus its more within the price range.

will the PSU be ok for 8800 in the future, I havent heard of the earthwatts brand before.

My mistake on the cooler. Will use the freezer pro.

Not sure about the case. I had an antec about this size and it was harder to get some of the full lengh cards in.

The earthwatts will be fine on an 8800:D
