I feel a little more optimistic after hearing that, But it still concerns me that the USB/ethernet ports arn't responding as of yet. What's the chance that ps2 stuff is going to be any different?XtAsY said:I once had a similar problem. To correct it I went onto another computer and got a new floppy disk and made it a bootable floppy. The I put AWDFLASH on the floppy along with the latest BIOS for the motherboard. I then ran AWDFLASH to reflash the BIOS and all went well and I could boot again. Make sure you know the name of the .bin file for your new BIOS because AWDFLASH will ask for it before you can flash.
AWBbox said:ok I guess I'll have to try to get a ps2 one another way then.

lowrider007 said:just an idea, this may work, it may not, if you can get it too boot up using the floppy drive but you still can't use the keyboard then using another computer you may be able to make a *.bat file or edit the *.bat file on the bootup disk to auto run NF68_P23.exe by adding a command line, I can't remember how to do it but somebody on here should know.
It would be great if someone wouldlowrider007 said:i have'nt played around editing or making *.bat file for years but someone on here may be able to help or build on my initial idea.

think once you get the usb adaptor or a cheap ps2 keyboard you will be away
when I put the USB->ps2 adapted keyboard in, though it didn't work the lights came on briefly, at least there's power to it which is more than can be said for the rest of the ports...AWBbox said:I'm beggining to think you're right actuallywhen I put the USB->ps2 adapted keyboard in, though it didn't work the lights came on briefly, at least there's power to it which is more than can be said for the rest of the ports...
.Don't worry dude. I have no proof or real knowledge, but PS2 I'm sure is a lot more basic than USB therfor more likely to work, if my logic is anything to go by:AWBbox said:update: the adapter didn't work![]()
Let us know what happens wih a PS2 keyboard attached
and that's exactly what i've just donelowrider007 said:can you not steal away a ps/2 keboard from somewhere, i'd be knocking on peoples houses if it was me.
I have a ps2 keyboard and mouse now which has solved the problem of the 'no keyboard present' thing. However, this is the stage i'm at now:

I've tried the new bios chip route and it's a non-starter. EVGA don't replace them, they only do RMAs. I'll try to get in touch with this T'mod guy though.
If you have a competent local PC shop they may be able to hotflash your existing chip if they have a proper board around to do it with. You can "probably" recover the system enough to flash with ANY compatible bios chip that has a non corrupted Award bios on it. If you can get an Award chip to boot your system enough to get to the last step before the flash actually starts, you can then hot swap the bios chip and then flash it. As I said, a "COMPETENT" shop should be able to do this.AWBbox said:Thanks for thatI've tried the new bios chip route and it's a non-starter. EVGA don't replace them, they only do RMAs.
