Does house insurance not cover this?
Just don't pay it, what are they going to do, take your demolished house?
If they do, tell them they are welcome to it.
If you don't pay they set up an account for you and charge 10% APR on any unpaid rates. They can then take the land your house is built upon (which still has value). Also, this ruins your credit raiting i believe. Insurance only covers the rebuilding of the house, or gives you it's value if the land cannot be built upon (such as if you live at the bottom of a cliff which has been made unsafe by quakes or something similar)
Nothing short of a joke tbh. I live fairly close to the border and quite a few mates use red diesel (only permitted for agricultural use in tractors and such) and HM Customs wonder why? It's a joke that we pay through the nose whilst the USA run their big Gas Guzzlers for pennies. Something wrong big time![]()
I do agree that there is something wrong there.
I don't have the time, sorry.
In which case, thanks for taking the time to read my thread anyway

Thanks to everyone else too.
