Please help... something is so wrong

Hey thx Badger its working much better now. i did fix the tearing issue in photoshop at least by disabling the the V-sync option in the setting. however updating PS has given it so much power and speed, many thx. interesting how Adobe can't fix this gfx driver issue.

i am still unhappy with the "input lag" of my monitor, it ruins some aspects of gaming for me, maybe i am just being fussy? however, how would you find out what input lag a monitor has? and what is acceptable ? according to a popular monitor reviewing website the input lag for mine in through mode is 8.8ms. is input lag going to get any better in future?

on another note badge yes i'm pretty disappointed in dual GPUs as well, seems that not much is supported for it even now, and appears to cause more problems because of it than it actually solves IMHO.

anyway thx for your help at least PS is working gr8 now :)

No worries Paul :)

Regarding v-sync and input lag. The best solution would be a 120hz monitor. Your pretty much limited to these options, unless your have a good crt.

They have very little lag, and 120hz = more potential frames displayed per second, which means a smoother display when things are moving.
Also 120hz reduces the chances of tearing with v-sync related issues too.

The issue with the above is that they probably won't be as good as your NEC with colour accuracy etc. I have the Samsung and don't have any serious issues, no lag etc, plus it's awesome for 3D , but it's not perfect in terms of colours due to being a tn panel.

Regarding reviews - tft central is a good place to start.

Input lag, response times and more importantly the residual image problems vary hugely from monitor to monitor - unfortunatly no way to really know til you've tried a few.

multi GPU is fine - I've been running SLI setups for years and had very few problems with it - something is wrong with your setup - almost sounds like you might be forcing an SLI profile rather than letting application profiles specify the SLI settings.
