Hey folks,

I've just installed 970 sli and I've had to move my sound card to the top pci slot just above the top gpu as it would have been touching the 2nd graphics card in the lower slot, my problem now is since the move my sound card won't show up at all in device manager and I've tried reseating it.

Should I move it to the third PCI-E slot which is x8 but this would then make the back of the sound card touch the graphics card. Could this cause any damage?

My motherboard is asus maximus formula vii and my power supply is a 1000watt superflower if that's any help.

Apologies for the poor typing trying to use this crappy laptop.

I have the Soundblaster ZXR.

Also apologies I made a mistake in my original post, the sound card is visible in device manager but say if I try and open the soundblaster control panel I get a message saying

"The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application or has unplugged jack connections. Do you want to slect another audio device now?"

I've double checked all connections and everything is ok, even in device manager there isn't any exclamation marks.

Totally stumped and I don't really want to give up on such an expensive sound card not to mention I hate onboard sound :|

I tried reinstalling over the top of them yesterday but they said I didn't have a supported product installed.
I've taken the card out and removed all the old drivers now and will try and reinstall again.

Hopefully that works!
