I don't know much about computer so i really need your assistance...

I am trying to upgrade our only PC which stop working for a week now. The spec is HP Pavilion a6355.uk, AMD Phenom(9500); 3072MB DDR2 SDRAM; nVidia GeForce 8500GT 512MB. Which home bundle is the bes on the site? Our budget is £300 max. Also we want to migrate to windows 7 as an OS if possible.

All the home bundles look great, just had a quick look .

The bundles are the innards of the PC. Am I right in thinking you have a case, a screen, keyboard, Hard disk.......

Or do you need to look at the systems (pre-built) here

Check the HP case, you may find it is not standard and not compatible to put standard parts in.

Thanks for taking time guys... below is the exact configuration of the unit but not sure about what the drop down specs is pertaining too. So i am not really confident in buying parts on the site that doesn't fit or will not work at all when installed.

I think the OP would be better of buying a pre built system as he has already stated he doesn't know much about computers, so it's unlikely he would have the confidence to assemble 1 himself and troubleshoot any problems that might occur:

With that in mind this is a decent spec at the top end of your budget and has Windows 7. Obviously it is onboard graphics so don't expect to be playing any 3d games, but that apart it seems ok for the money:

Back again, hmm..ok

A system for £300 would be cool there.

Wondering if there is an easy fix on the original machine - are you techy enough to take the side off the case with in unpluged from the wall and say reseat the memory modules for starters.

You can do a system check or post your findings on here and some pros will have a go at diagnosing it.

Alternatively the system suggested would be great, you may want to reuse the keyboard, mouse, screen and speakers.

Check the PC is plugged in and switched on etc
