please help.

Are you on Windows 7 or 8 btw?

I know with BF4 there's been issues with 780 ti and performance, and windows 8 usually sorts that, but not seen other games

windows 7,Tried all the above guys.I still cant even maintain a smooth 60fps in call of duty ghost lol

The thing is,it's not just 'ghost' its every single game i play.My cpu overclock it fully stable.
It makes no difference what my cpu compares to,My rig should be able to perform well on all games i play.

Playing Arma 3 single player Im lucky to get over 40fps surely this isnt correct.

No way, a 660 can do single player with high fps maxed out (multiplayer is another story, that needs a beast to play).

Run GPU-z and test what speed it's running (is it running 16x?)

If it's running in say 4x take it out clean the port out then clean the copper with a rubber then pop it back in and check your bios isn't set to auto and force 16x.

Sounds like you've done the driver thing to death, that would have been my first thought.

What settings are you running? Do you have everything in full?

Is it reporting any issues in device manager?

I still don't think single player would be an issue, I played arma 3 single pl showcases in the alpha maxed out on a qx6700 at 3ghz and a 660 :)

Couldn't run multiplayer for toffee though lol.

Core 2 Quad has higher per core performance then even the FX chips.... That's how far behind the FX chips are compared to Intel.

But personally whenever I change GPU brand I always do a fresh install of Windows to ensure there's no driver residue to cause issues.

oh, fair enough, I thought that fx would have at least 30 percent on my old qx, Arma in multiplayer nails CPUs though for sure.

Arma is one of the titles that I built my newer rig
for :) Planetside 2 is another CPU intensive one as well.

Oh in multi-threaded games the FX would give you well over 30% over your old CPU, problem is that the games you're playing really on cores with performance rather then loads of cores.

It's blates obvious why GTA IV and Arma 3 has bad performance, it's the CPU.

But he shouldn't be getting outright poor performance in all games, so it's not just "The CPU"

Your OS isn't doing you any favours either.
