Makes you wonder why all these pubs and restaurants are complaining. All they have to do is rip out their expensive catering kitchens and replace them with another expensive to run alternative.
But I thought the cost of electric in the UK was only going to roughly double in price where cost of gas is going up 7 times the price

There's no limit to the cost for businesses. Some business have seen massive increases in recent quotes for electricity.

No I didn't as my local electric is supplied from a mix of a nuclear power station and local oil or Diesel power station
You get most of your electricity from France via Jersey.

Has the price of gas gone up by around 700% ?

Thank god i only use electric at home

Surely it be far cheaper to just replace all the gas items with electric or oil powered ones ?
Due to the way the EU structures pricing on electricity an increase in price for the production of a certain type of electricity (say via gas) raises the price for all other types.

Signed for me and my wife. We will have a serious conversation with our energy provider and definitely leave our review on this website.
It is insane for private people and for businesses it started to be almost impossible.
Two friends of mine who own a garage just closed their business cause they couldn't pay bills for the last months.

This is shocking and worrying, For those that don't understand and think businesses make bucket loads of cash, here's a little stat.

Less than 15% of businesses in the UK make a profit per annum of 10k or more. These businesses employ people, these people have families. If these businesses go under, their jobs go, their will be less choice, which is worse for the consumer as it will increase the chances of monopolisation.

Only then will the average Joe understand once they realise they've lost their job.
