Looks like your video memory is corrupted/faulty, is your card overclcocked at all ?

i've never overclocked it but i have had it for about 3 years. i think its showing signs of age. i will try cleaning dust from it but is memory repairable at all

Nope, you'll probably have to have a look for a new card.

If it's 3 years old then it could be down to dust problems. Others on these forums have had this problem and after cleaning out the dust it stopped due to better airflow.

i've cleaned the dust from it and the fan is spinning alright but problem has gone away. what video cards are cheap and equivalent to radeon 9800 pro. i don't want a card that won't utilise my 1gb ddr and 1.7hg cpu fully. any recommendations? many thanks

I think he meant the 6600GT - the 6800GT isn't cheap!

You can pick up a second hand 9800Pro for only £40 or so though now and it's a real bargain at that price

The 6600GT is better, but expect to pay £65 second hand

i had that with my old 6800 ultra and i had to send it back but i was lucky they didnt have any of the other cards so i got a gainward golden sample instead but yea your card is knackered am afraid to say :(
