Hi There,


I have been building my mates computer

spec is

a64 3200
ASRock 939 Dual SATA
1024 (2 x 512 RAM)
9600 pro 256 (AGP)

I have been trying to install windows on it and it gets post, and then starts to run the windows setup, it does the whole thing where it detects all the devices etc, and then just as you are about to get the screen where you choose which drive to install windows on it doesnt work at all, im using a normal legitimate Windows xp CD ROM,

all parts are new, i have flashed the CMOS but to no avail.

Please help if you can, any comments welcome!
 
Wicked thanks guys i think that i do need to install the SATA drivers so i will give that a try and let you know ! :)
 
Ok we didnt get a disk with the motherboard only a CDROM. The only problem is that i have even used another harddrive (IDE) and tried loading windows 98 on it but still the same problem occurs........

Any other suggestions?

Thanks bios version is normal and the 3200 is supported, and i've tried with all those settings and still no avail?

I will try and switch to using the other non SATA-II ports and see if that makes a difference.......else im gonna have to find a floppy drive....as he didn't order one with his computer.......

is it possible to just get the drivers and stuff off the CD and put it onto the floppy and then load them? as when you press f6 it asks you for the manufacturers floppy drive.
