Hi all, Im planning on building my fist PC rather than buying a full system as it is somthing that I have wanted to do for sometime. I already have a 17" monitor which Im not planning on upgrading atm and I do not need a keyboard or a mouse.

Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - £52.86

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK) - £52.86

Zalman CNPS9700-LED CPU Cooler -£39.94

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB GDDR3 - £193.86

Samsung SH-182MRSMN 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter - £21.14

Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU - £93.99

Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard - £82.24

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620A ATA-100 16MB Cache - OEM £42.29

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Sound Card - OEM (PCI-Express) - £30.54

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - £70.49

Total : £695.42

I am planning to OC but I am undecided on some components,
- Is a 620*** PSU overkill, could I get away with a 520wat?
- Is it worth spending an extra £10 on Crucial Ballistix 2GB 800MHz?
- Are there any better cooling cases for a similar or lower price (Im not bothered by how it looks).
- I have a GeForce 7900GS in my current rig and Im thinking of using this in the new build and getting a 8900 when they are released.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, get the HX520W, as the HX620 is an overkill for your system.

If you are into heavy overclocking, possibly, but the OCZ stuff isn't bad at clocking from what I've read up on.

Not sure on that one.

They will not be out until Q1, *maybe* Q2 next year if you can hold out for that long. But I can't see a problem with buying the 8800 GTS now and selling it at a later point to upgrade to a better card :)

Rest of the system looks great.

Just to echo flibby, a great build there.

No need to run the RAM faster than 6400, as if it is sync with your FSB that will be a great overclock. I have the OCZ, it is at a decent price and looks nice bit it isn't the greatest clocking RAM. Still, fine for the money, and as I say you probably won't need (or want) to overclock the RAM.

You could drop to a 520W PSU, and get an 8800 GTS 640MB. The RAM helps when you wack up the AA in games :)

Hi, thanks for your reply but i have a couple more Qs;

- If I was to strecth my budget and get a 8800 GTX would the 520*** PSU still be OK?
- Ive just noticed that the Tuniq Tower is in stock, is this better than the Zalman 9700 cooler?
