Well here is the same old story, my girlfriend recently got into World of Warcraft in a big way and has been playing the first stages of the game on her laptop. The problem is that her laptop is very out of date and she has a hard time playing when she is in larger areas.

So i need help with a full system to handle WoW and keep my lady happy. Now here is the hard part, we are on the breadline at the moment and although i would love to pay for a huge OTT system for her to use we really cant afford too much so we have to try and keep the price down.

World of Warcraft Recommended Specifications:

Windows® System 2000/XP OS:
* Intel Pentium® IV 1.5 GHz or AMD XP 1500+ MHz
* 1024 MB RAM
* 64 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX 5700 class card or above

Thankyou for any help :D

PS I will need:

Processor:
Memory:
Hard Drive:
Video Card:
Monitor:
Sound Card:
Keyboard:
Mouse:
Mouse Surface:
Operating System:

Partially based on a system that I specified in another thread I'd maybe go for something like this. It gives you some form of expansion potential although most of the parts are fairly near to the bottom of their range. If you have a strict budget in mind then if you could post it, it would be helpful to see exactly how much money there is to play with for the specification.

I'd get 2gb RAM if possible, the more the better with MMORPG's tbh. As semi-pro said, a 7600gt will be more then enough for WoW as it's not very graphics intensive. I'd also recommend a Hard Drive with 16mb cache.

All that will help if you play future mmorpg's also.

Something like the ram below would suffice instead of the 2 x 512MB in the spec listed. I would go for a 16mb cache Hard-Drive or a Raptor like Ive got as this reduces zone time down, I know as ive upgraded hard-drives through the last 7 years of playing MMORPG's. :)

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-5400PHU2-2GBLA) (MY-012-GS) £124.99 (£146.86 Including VAT at 17.5%
Totally agree, 2GB of Ram makes quite abit of difference especially playing MMORPG's - not sure about graphics card/cpu in terms of lower spec machines, but my spec below ran WoW with graphics settings on max, same goes for EQ I / EQ II.

Thanks guys this is really helpfull. To be honest there is no budget, because we would rather save the money and get to some thing that plays it well.

Ye that spec looks good, but i would put a little extra into a better cpu. The 3500+ is about £12 more and will be worth it. 2 Gig of ram would also be good, but it depends on you budget.

Lucky man, i could never get the two to work together. When i went off my last bird, i used the clan match excuse for the reason i couldn't see her. She soon left :p Then i left the clan as it's a waste of valuable uni fun time :D

The only thing i have ever learnt about women and gaming is that its not enough for them to just know that you love them. Its that you have to constantly tell them and take time out so that they know how important they are to you lol
