HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped me out with my spec.

Would have been better to buy the Ip 35 pro and just bought a gigabyte card ive got one. But do you have a network capable of gygabyte?

Also you can only get EAX on other sound cards if you pay 100 quid and i dont think tis even out yet. Its on preorder i beleive (not checked)

I thought with asus motherboard if you ahve a GTX you loss half the sataports ??? The Abit Ip-35 pro is just superior i think and would have been cheaper to get that and a gigabyte network card if you needed it.

Ah well, I didn't know that - bit late now. I'm sure I'll find a way around it or end up purchasing the IP-35 and a gigabyte card.

EDIT: Rang them up, they hadn't sent the order out so I swapped it over for the Abit IP-35 and swapped the ram as well as they were out of stock.

The Ip-35 PRO i hope as ive not seen you menchen the pro bit once through the thread. There are differences between the 3 you know. The pro is one if not the best in the P35 serlection.

O and it does come with Gigabit LAN, which is what you wanted i thought?

It was the PRO, sorry I just assumed. The Pro does come with Gigabit LAN but it's not as quick as otherboards due to the onboard controller apparently. Hence the reason I went for the other board to begin with.

As I would be thinking about external RAID at a later date, I went with the other board but like you say, if I do go that route I can buy a gigabit ethernet card and do it that way.

Nice spec but do you have a 64bit OS let alone any OS? Ask because 32bit XP nor Vista see beyond 3.5GB :(

For main PC use it will be 'kickass' & for awhile ;)

Post up build pics if/when you can :)

I have Vista 32bit, have ordered the 64bit dvd from Microsoft. Trying to get hold of a 64bit dvd at the moment so I can install this weekend.

Will post up the build, it will either go really well or be a huge headache with RAID and overclocking etc. Interesting weekend ahead I think...

Good that you went with the pro :P was just checking.

I have the netgear ethanet port thingy though its 6 quid cheaper elsewhere on the net. I cant compare it to others though and i only run it at 100 instead of 1000. So cant really help, but generaly you cant go wrong with netgear ;)
