Please Spec Me i5 2500k Dual Screen Setup

Hi again. finally received my replacement case today.

Quick question do I need to connect both the 24-pin ATX Power Connector as well as the 8-pin (12v) power connector?

I've got the 24-Pin one already attached. Thanks

Yes, you require both.

Cheers. I've got an AC'97 cable from my case (Define XL) unconnected (can't find where) but I've connected the HD Audio pin from the same (source). Am I safe to assume it's fine to leave that disconnected?

Thanks again

Right, next step is to overclock this baby... Never overclocked before

Stop posting and get on with it!!! :p

I have overclocked Sandybridges cpu's only the i7 920 cpu, but I believe its a case of increasing the multiplier and slight change to the vcore.

Hi all

I've just noticed that my computer doesn't seem to wake up from sleep!

I don't use the sleep function but accidently pressed it on my keyboard yesterday. Once I pressed the keys on my keyboard to wake it up I recieve a no-signal message on my monitor (connected via hdmi) though the led on my case stops blinking when try to wake it.

Using the cpu clocking feature the board overclocks to 4.2 with a v-Core of 1.3. Do you think it's possible to get a lower v-core reading by overclocking manually?

Try it, just alter the multiplier to 42X and leave the voltages alone.

If it fails to boot (unlikely) you got the ClearCMOS button on the rear to easily press.

Yes, that seems to have lowered it (very) slightly to just under 1.3.

How come the BIOS gives a higher reading for temps and v-core than AXTU and CPUID?

Thats right, you can.

Thats just using the 4.6 clock from the selection in the BIOS

I should've taken a screenshot of it under the selection of 4.2 in BIOS. But I'm happy as I'm running stock cooler... going to try and edit ratio to 43 and compare the readings.
