Hi All,

I've never posted this kind of thing on here before, and hope it is permissible, but this has touched me and wanted to try and do more to help the people affected...

My wife's friend teaches pre-school- age children, and one of her pupils was diagnosed with brain cancer in July last year... Sadly, she has declined very rapidly, as she has an extremely aggressive form of cancer.

Her last shot for survival is an experimental clinic in the U.S. which her parents are trying to raise money to send her to. I know not everyone will agree with this, but if I was in their position, I would probably do the same thing, as would many of you.

Anyway, they are trying to raise money, so any support you can give, whether it be a donation, or Facebook 'like' (so more people see it), or anything else would be very much appreciated.

You can also read the diary of both the poor girl and her father, both of which make for some sobering reading.

The website is: http://helpmefightcancer.co.uk/

Thanks :)

Thanks :)

I love the last thing said in that link:-
"Most importantly we will be fighting her cancer with prayer!"
Yes lets.

I wish I had enough money to donate something substantial to that as clearly time is going to be a factor :(

Oh wait...the Bursynski Clinic?!!! The dude with his 'antineoplastins'?

Argh I feel really bad for the poor man and his daughter, but I'm still going to point out there that the clinic has been widely discredited in the international medical and scientific community for being a scam and offering false hope and taking ridiculous amounts of money from lots of people.

EDIT: found the page from Cancer Research UK about this.

That is awful.

My thoughts are with the family. I sincerely hope this experimental treatment pays off, I will donate and link this on Facebook now.

I knew it would be controversial, but the family have done tons of research and there do seem to be success stories, but I don't know, as I have not looked into it that much myself.

As things stand today, she may not be able to go there anyway (as she is currently on a very risky treatment to try and slow her cancer down), but any donations will still be put to good use.

There's no proof of success they also haven't published anything g for peer review recently.
IMO they need to be persuaded to avoid it, becuase while she is being treated by a scammer, she can't be having other treatments which might help her.

She has run out of options in the UK though- She is currently on a course of high- dose Thiotepa in London, which is just about the most powerful form of therapy available- so the parents see the US clinic as a last shot at beating this.

Sadly though, this is a massive waste of money as it's going to cruel fraudsters. The money would be better spent on letting her fulfill her wishes.

Sadly then they should accept and spend qaulity time with her. Rather than shipping her around the world, taking her away from friends and family..

However saying that I have no idea how I would react and I wouldn't be surprised if most of us acted like they are. But IMO its not a good course of action.

There are success stories from people praying to the baby Jesus too....

but any donations will still be put to good use.

well no, donations will be given to a fraudster so he can continue to abuse and defraud more families and their children.
