Looking for some advice on the above. My current Plex server is using a 1TB WD Green and a 500GB external hard drive and quickly running out of space. I'm looking to replace the drives with bigger capacity and wondering which would be the best option.
- buying NAS specific drive(WD Red/Seagate IronWolf)
or
- buying a desktop external drive and gutting it
The latter will obviously work out cheaper but has some disadvantages such as warranty and possible reliability.
