I am looking for a better way of deleting extremely large files (sometimes >10GB) than using the Windows 7 Recycle Bin.

Either a nod in the direction of a good bit of freeware, or a way of doing it that avoids the usual method of deletion would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment it is taking roughly 5-10 mins per file (if they go at all).

The PC is an OcUK gaming PC, and is only about three months old (so hardware shouldn't be an issue).

Thanks in advance.

What antivirus do you use? It could be attempting to scan the file as you delete it.try shift delete as above or give the command line a go with the del command.

You can also change the size of the recycle bin, so big files will never even attempt to go in there.

Right click on Recycle Bin then properties.
