Pls spec me a PSU

Don't get the tagan 430W, it costs £55inc VAT. Get the Hiper 580W Modular on Special offer this week. £6 for future proof and modular. What more could you ask for?
 
the £6 is not a worry but I have just read several posts in this section stating the Hiper 580w is a noisy bugger.Although future proof my aim is to erradicate noise otherwise my current psu would suffice.

It is not loud at all. It runs on a 120mm fan and not the 80mm fans you will find in most PSU's and IIRC the tagan uses an 80mm fan. Small fan = higher rpm for same airflow as large fan/lower rpm. It is also thermally controlled so will adjust to the heat of the power supply. I have one, and built one for my friend and they are not loud. Yes, the seasonics are quieter, but they are really renowned for silence (and designed for it).

EDIT: I referred to the wrong Tagan, as the 430W one has a 120mm fan.

It varies, some people have been reporting they hear weird sounds coming from the Hiper and the Tagan, I'm not sure... you've stated about being a nOOb several times already... if you want true silence, go with a passive PSU or one which has the fan adjusted by the user.
