Hi,

Really appreciate some help. I think there's a problem with the waste on my sink as it takes ages for the water to drain from the sink, and no amount of unblocker will help.

So I've decided to replace the waste, seeing as they don't cost to much.

However the waste is stuck solid, i cannot shift it. Is the only remedy to somehow cut it off?

Thanks

Waste pipes should be just screwed together? Normally you can undo them by hand. Have you tried One Shot Cleaner? its sulphuric acid and will eat through pretty much anything.

I presume this is where the pipe screws onto the sink? I doubt anybody would glue that (although you never know), try a bit of heat to expand the plastic and make it easier (it's plastic, so think hot water jacket, not blow torch!). It's a sink, so try filling it with hot water, let it drain - then try it, should warm up the plastic a little, maybe enough to unscrew it.

One Shot FIRST, every time.
Then heat it up, give it a real hard bang, some numpty might have used silicone to seal it, rather than ptf tape, but they shouldnt really have had to use anything.
Worse sceanrio is days of hacking at it, then you wont be able to get the connection off anyway, BINGO! new sink!
