Looking to pick up one of the above saws soon and wondering if anyone had used both and your opinions and if the festool is worth the extra £50 or so.

would it be suitable for cutting/ripping timberboard?

cheers

Dewalt DWS520 ;)
The festool is only worth the money if you are looking to buy some or all of the available add-ons.

Why not just a standard circular saw for much much less money and a decent rip fence for not a lot of cash?

I only have experience with the festool out of those you mention, but it really is a beauty, makes quick tidy clean work on any job, but as mentioned above its really at its best with some of the other festool kit like the dust extractor.

Already have various circular saws from 165mm 18v up to 9" 110v so no worries there lol looking for one of these for board work mainly.
