Plz check my M/B is good enough for CF

I have an Asus P8Z77-V Intel Z77 and I want to run CF7970's, the specs on my board say PCI-E 3.0 - 1X 16X or 2X 8X, its this still currently the best PCI setup for Crossfire atm?
I get confused with PCI lanes

Your current board will be fine. There is minimal difference between dual 16x and 8x.
