PnP error code 10

Hi there,

I'm having issues getting my new wireless usb adapter (belkin) to install drivers, i just get error there was a problem installing drivers. And when i go into device manager and right click on the belkin device there error code 10 the device cannot start.

I've already taken back one usb stick thinking it was a problem with netgear, which was the previous adapter i bought. So i went and got this more expencive belkin thinking my problems would be fixed. It would seem it must be a problem with my pc dealing with the drivers or a conflict...

Any help would be much appreciated, ive already tried many things, windows is up to date and ive tried manually telling it to install things. I've also run a program to check on the error from microsoft but even that didnt help.

Help me!!! ( i thought id try post here as its most likely software related )

Have you tried using the supplied Belkin software to install ?

Yes i did, serveral times. They just fail... Ive tried manually telling it to updatevia device manager, ive also tried the drivers from the belkin website for the model of the adapter. But seeing as my first device failed at this point makes me think its software related on my pc.. By that i mean i must have a corrupt file somewhere maybe preventing pnp wireless adapters installing properly?
