Setting up CCTV, only using 2 cameras but I require a POE switch, preferably gigabit to prevent bottlenecks but the bandwidth to the cameras need only be 100MB each so 1Gb to PC and 100MB to cameras.

Only 2 cameras therefore only require 2 POE ports.

What do you recommend that's cheap, give me the product number and i'll google where to buy it myself.

If you only need two you could just buy separate POE injectors.

would need to buy more ethernet cables and a switch anyway regardless if i went down that route.

would rather just buy a POE switch as I can easily upgrade in the future should they decide to add more cameras. can anyone recommend a good cheap one?

What cameras are you using, what sort of power are they going to draw, do you need PoE+ etc? Most switches have a PoE budget, and whilst they might have 24 PoE ports can't give the full power to all ports at the same time.

Using the TP Link above as an example, it has a total PoE budget of 53W across 4 PoE ports. But 802.3af specifies 15.4W per port, which across 4 ports is 61.6W.

Not a problem if you aren't going to max out every port, but something to bear in mind. Cameras tend to be hungrier than things like IP phones.
