Pogba - Can he kick it?

Except he has, people just like to pin the hate on him. Oh he didn't produce a world class performance 10v11 against the league leaders with all our attacking players out? Oh no.

Come off it Shami. Suggesting he's played anywhere the level expected of him is as ridiculous as half the criticism he receives. At best he's played well in a few games but you're not paying £90m + god knows what in wages for that - he was signed to dominate matches and be the difference in big games and he's not come close to doing that.

At his price and wages he should be putting in 'game changing' performances ala Ronaldo & Messi.

I watched him during the Euro's and at no point did I think he was a £40m player nevermind the quoted fee (which he actually surpassed).

And he has done in plenty of games, He's done a load of amazing balls to set up Ibrahimovic that have won games. People just like to forget those in favour of the dumb stuff because people are pretty stupid. In a way it's good, you can always tell that United are becoming more of a threat by how many other fans turn against us ;)

Only idiots expected him to come into the team and have the same impact as Ronaldo or Messi... He's done exactly what we wanted him to, the only thing I'd like to see from him is more goals. His creative play has been superb.

haha i think you need to take those red glasses off.

he has not even shown anything near what a £90m player should.

As if value has anything to do with it. Stones was £50m, has he been good? The market is crazy at the moment, there is a lot of money in the EPL. We need a player to improve our midfield and he has, simple as.

You did not spend £90m on a player just to be slighty better than the rubbish before him. No matter how you try to spin it, he's not come close to living up to expectations. He was signed to be a game changer, to dominate games and be the difference in the biggest games - he's done neither. He's played well at times but that's the best you can say about him - in the biggest games in particular he's often not even managed that.

You say only idiots expected him to have the same impact as Ronaldo or Messi but equally only idiots pay a world record fee expecting a player to do just ok. There's a middle ground there. I've said this before, why do we always have to deal in extremes? He's not been terrible but he's certainly not been good enough either.

Value has everything to do with it. man utd paid a world record fee for someone who is performing like a mid level premiership midfielder. You might as well have resigned djemba-djemba or bebe or anderson you get same ambling about the pitch not doing much but were all better than what you have.

no he hasn't

hes played 28 games and had 3 assists

he bossed juve because the Italian league is weak, hes now playing in the prem and is average - good

I think Pogba has done fairly well, he's certainly not the problem in the team, finishing chances is. The fact is when you spend £90m, however affordable it is for us, people will expect fireworks and he's fallen short of that.

Early days though, the potential is there.

I kind of feel sorry for Pogba, bar his awful haircuts! If he was bought for £25/30 mill people would be saying he is having a decent first season. But sadly for him he is the most expensive player ever and I just don't think he is ever going to live up to that.

Created a new thread for this as it was taking over the banter thread. Usual rules apply, no spoilers, so if he has a great game or a **** game, keep any chat in the matchday threads until highlights have been shown.

I'm sure he's absolutely gutted, and drying his eyes at home with £50 notes.

A Liverpool fan being critical of United players, what a surprise. Pogba has just turned 24 and hasn't even finished a full season post-Juve. Go back to dribbling about Henderson being the next Gerrard, boring.
