point and click adventures

Played through The Whispered World recently. Old school style adventure (2d). I tended to skip through the spoken dialogue tho and just read it most of the time. Haven't got around to finishing it but on the last chapter. Pretty good tho.

Sam & Max series isn't bad. Played the first Wallace & Grommit adventure (lol) and it was OK. Most of the Telltale adventures are probably worth a go..haven't tried Strong Bad series yet tho

Some more ideas: Overclocked, Perry Rhodan, Sinking Island, The Lost Crown, Syberia 1+2. Theres some Sherlock Holmes games that aren't bad. I liked Dreamfall but its not really much of an Adventure, more like a interactive story

I don't really play that many adventures now tho..don't think the quality is as good as they used to be but there'll be some good ones I haven't tried yet.

If I haven't played a point and click game since Dizzy on the Amstrad(not a point in the truest sense)

Where would people suggest I start?

The game must work on win7 64bit

I'd start with the Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition.

Or if you don't mind playing something a bit older to save some money, I'd pick something from the Lucasarts pack on Steam.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is probably the most rewarding of the bunch to play. :)

How about the Leisure Suit Larry series? :D

I've just replayed the Monkey Island special editions on Steam, with the updated graphics. Most enjoyable.

I want them to do the same with Day of the Tentacle, that's an awesome point and click.

The Dig is good, but the novel was better. :)

Would Fahrenheit count as a point and click? it does seem to involve a lot of pointing and clicking!:D Anyway even if it's not strictly a point and click I think most point and click gamers and therefore the op'r would probably enjoy it.

More traditional point and clicks I've played recently include 'Secret Files Tunguska' and 'Still Life',enjoyed both and I believe both have sequels now.

A couple of spooky, quirky ones that might be worth throwing into the mix are 'Barrow Hill' and 'The Lost Crown A Ghost Hunting Adventure' both UK produced and pretty darn good imo.

Day of the Tentacle
Operation Stealth
All the lucasfilm/lucasart titles (well the oldskool ones anyway)
Longest Journey
Conquests of Camelot!
Cruise for a Corpse
Kyrandia series
Star Trek: A final Unity
Blade Runner
Beneath a Steel Sky
BAT 2
Lost Crown (except the ending sucks big time)

Penumbra collection (trilogy i think) is available for £9 so that might be worth a shot.

Recently i bought A Vampyre Story and The Black Mirror. (cant really get into that un tho)
