pointless upgrade?

In my i7 rig currently i have 3gb of 1066 ddr3, i use it predominantly for gaming. Will upgrading to 6gb of 1333 provide a worthwhile improvement?

Depends on the games you play and matter of opinion if its worthwhile, However i would say 6GB would make a difference and its fairly cheap for a 1600mhz kit now

Depends on what O/S you are running for starters..

64bit then yes do it now !

32bit then go get a 64bit OS.

I'm running 64 bit vista atm, and i play bioshock, cod 4, dow 2 and a few other fps games. I also intend on getting MW2 in november so i presumed it would benefit from the extra memory.

You might not see a great difference but the extra RAM always comes in handy! You never know!
