So my 3 points for speeding are now 3 years old so they are finished with now right? why is it you have to disclose them to the insurance for 5 years? if there are only valid for 3 years then the insurance shouldnt need to know about them anymore or is it just another way to get more money from you? and why do they stay on your licence for 4 years seems really stupid why dont they just stay on your licence for 5 year and are valid for 5 years too

They always ask for offence details in the last 5 years.

3 year old minor offences wont change your premium anyway so it's no big deal.

Pretty much anything with 3 points is minor, whether it's speeding, tyres, brakes, no l plates, traffic light jumping etc.

This is one of the things that angers me also. I also got 3 points for a TS10 (running a red) about three and a half years ago. I think its fair to say I learnt a lot in the first year after my test. Furthermore that how i drove 3 years ago let alone five years bears very little on how I drive today. Especially as my car then was shockingly ill-equipped compared to my current car (which isnt well equipped by any means) let alone modern cars.

Still it's one of those things we have to live with in life.

got my sp60 for speeding while in the Lakes on a 2 lane road, said on the letter i was doing 73 in a tempory 60 zone strange thing is there was no road works or any thing like that and there was no signs up saying tempory limits. not complaing though i was speeding and thats my fault. was in my dadas new 1.8 primera and was "testing it out " ;) quite a step up in speed compaired to my little 1.0 micra :) learned my lesson that day and i try not to speed now
