IIRC, yes, he'll lose it straight away.gazzaa said:i mean will those 8 points carry over to his full license and because hes got more than 6 points he'll lose it immediately
JRS said:How?! Who the hell has been teaching the silly sod if he's managed that?
agw_01 said:To echo what everyone else has said...
WTF! He has 8 points on a provisional licence?
I'd tell him not even to try and attempt his driving test. There's no way anyone is going to let him drive after he's managed to clock those points up!
gazzaa said:think he got caught driving with no insurance, tax in a car that was stolen im not to sure though i never asked
[TW]Fox said:But will he, though? I'm not so sure he will automatically lose it.
This infers that the existing points will only be taken into account if he commits a further offence during the penalty period. Basically if he gets even a single additional point during his first two years he'll lose his license but if he stays clean for those two years he'll be fine.Valid penalty points incurred prior to passing the first test are taken into account if the driver commits a penalty point offence during the probationary period.

Oh yeah with any luck his insurance will be so stratospheric that it'll stop him driving. More likely is that he'll just drive without insurance tbhsplitz said:But surely he'll still have to declare these convictions to his insurance company, if so I would love to hear what his quote would be!

It'd be ******* stupid to have it any other way.agw_01 said:Great, so Big Kev starts nicking cars at 12. Gets arrested for joyriding, driving without insurance, driving while drunk etc etc etc...
He turns 17, he's had every warning under the sun, he has 25 points on his 'license'
He takes his driving test and passes, and is allowed on the road like every other hard working person.
Fantastic.
