2 questions
how long do i have to declare them on my insurance?
and how long do they stay on the licence before i can get them removed ?

it was sp30 speeding and going through a no entry sign

You should let your insurance company know right away. They stay on for 3 years but only affect your insurance for 2 years(usually).

I'd ring them up now, if you crash your claim would be void.

oh ive already declared them had the insurance for 2 years now but its just up for renewel next month and wondering what to do as on direct line website it says hav eyou had any conviction in the last 5 years?
its not a bad quote even with the points declared £610 a year fully comp on my mondeo st tdci @ 22 years old been driving 4 years

The points count on your licence for 3 years for 'count back' by the courts. You can apply to have them removed after 4 years. Most insurance companies ask for endorsements within the last 5 years.

Are you completely full of crap? They stay on your licence for 3 years and cannot be removed until 4 years have lapsed. For insurance purposes they are valid for this period also (as in, they can only affect premiums for 3 years) but the information must be given if within 5 years.

Having renewed mine - they wanted to know accidents within 5 years but points as listed on your license.. i.e. 4 years. (As Lucero mentioned its 3years for totting up purposes so its possible to get 12+ points on your license and not be banned).

Instead of giving out utterly false advice on matters you obviously know nothing about, why not go and take some pictures of your car.

Most insurance companies will want to know about convictions for 5 years, not 2 years, from the date of offence. If you crash and have undeclared convictions it is unlikely your claim would be void but it would introduce undesireable complications.

I find it quite funny that cybergeek is preaching about being honest to insurers given his alleged personal circumstances and arrangements.
