Points system in BF2142

why? do you get extra points for knife/pistol kills? I've accidently joined a knife only server, bored the hell out of me, looked funny tho.

Been having trouble doing the titan destructor (teams too big so less chance of success) but will try the titan guns one tomorrow.

I don't view knife/pistol servers as stats padding. You get 1pt for the kill as normal

I'm sick of this. Sometimes I can be playing for hours absolutley fine, but today, I'm getting CTD's and random reboots

any ideas whats causing this? and whats with most areas of the map being 60+FPS turn a corner and everything goes down to 9FPS, turn around again and back to 60+??
This is a great game but it has serious problems.......

yes, but you get awards for knife, and obviously if you can only use knife and pistol, then your going to gain that award quicker!

This is a great game but it has serious problems.......

You said it. It does have several issues with stability and punkbuster. Some solveable, others remain a mystery. Google for some solutions.

woo! got my titan destructor gold! but next round It rebooted my machine after a high pitched noise.

Actually you get all points much faster, as you're all stood in the same place so it's non-stop instant action.

Well you'll get:

Bronze, Silver and Gold Collectors badges for knifing.
Bronze, Silver and Gold Pistol Commendation for pistols.
Combat Efficiency Pin (5 kill streak)
Distinguished Combat Efficiency Pin (10 kill streak)
Collectors Pin (8 Dogtags)
Firearm Efficiency Pin (4 Pistol Kills)

And that's not including any resupply, reviving badges/pins etc.

I'm up to silver on both knife and pistol,got all pins apart from the damn 'distinguished' pin, have been trying for days now ( not on a knife/pistol server )
