Poker question

Yeah but that goes on the assumption people with poor hands will play them no matter what. Often making out you've got a strong hand like AA's keep away a lot of competition. So on that basis alone pocket AAs probably collects the pot more than 70% of the time.

My point was, that by not raising with aces, i.e slow playing by limping (in which case, such hands are likely to still be played), you can be very much on a knife edge.

I'm guessing the stats for JQoff and 56off above are the wrong way round ??

Nope. In this case, 56 is infact more likely to win. It's as a result of the other hands limited JQ's potential to hit a straight.

Oh and, an important side note, statistics like this have to be taken with a pinch of salt also. Even though a hand may win by the river, it is likely they will be folded after the flop of turn.

Best get yourself in the next OcUK poker night and challenge the champion then ;)

Or try, anyway :p

I might. Not sure I can be bothered with a 30+ player MTT with nothing at stake.

If you want to play me for money then bring it on. You name the stakes and the discipline, I don't care, I've seen your stats :p
