polaroid fader nd filters - any good?

the only fader nd filters I can find are the Polaroid ones... does anyone have any experience of these?

summer is on its way and if I want to be doing video in the sunshine with a nice shallow DOF I'm gonna be needing one

can't decide wether I'm going to get one for my Canon 50mm 1.4 which will be 58mm or Sigma 30mm 1.4 which is 62mm...

No idea on the Polaroid Fader ND filters.

However, you know you can get step down adapters which allow you to use larger filters on smaller filter threads, i.e the adapter has a 58mm thread which you screw into the lens, the adapter has a 62 mm thread into which you can screw the 62 mm filter.

The only downside is that you may get a little bit of vignetting, however if you use low profile filters you can lessen the risk.

Might be a solution to your problem.
