Police car on bridge.

I’ve actually checked and it’s a 40 (not a 50) before that 60. So I’m likely in a world of pain if they snapped me before the 60 change.

Still I’ve a clean license and it’s 11 year since my speed awareness. Maybe they go light on me. Or set an example lol

by no means a hard fast rule. But i've had my fair share of speeding points in the past. In my experience, if it's a patrol car with an actual police officer in, they chase after you, pull you over and give you the chance to talk, explain etc.. then issue you a ticket.

If it's the actual mobile speed camera fans, or fixed unmanned cameras, these just send you it in the post. I personally wouldn't worry.

Exception to the rules and all that, but what else can you do other than sit and wait and watch the postman every day for the next 2 weeks ?

I know this is years ago, but came across the thread and was curious what the outcome was?
It went to court and while the judge was lenient to the speeding they banned them from driving for life stating that they clearly had vision issues mistaking an Aston Martin for a Bentley.

They have tripods now so don’t need to be out of the car. Set it up, sit back and relax. All automatic and AI based.
100s of NIPs a day, easily.
