Acoustic cryptanalysis only works with keys that makes a sound. Ever heard of a keyboard with beebing keys?

Van Eck phreaking only works on CRT monitors. Anyone still got one? Oh, it is possible to do it on LCD screens, but it's unlikely that the data reconstructed would be accurate.
 
it wont effect any of us anyway well maybe if you on some terrorism :) they cant just spy every pc connected to the internet in the country can they? :P

Why not?

Other than limitations on resources, there's no reason not to use as much surveillance as possible on as many people as possible. Large-scale trawling will find something, if they target enough people. They're allowed to do it and this sort of thing is strongly encouraged by the authorities, so why would they not do it as much as resources allow?

That would work with most people. People on these forums are not normal in this respect. Most people have absolutely no idea what the difference is between an executable attached to an email and an URL in an email (not that they know what an URL is, either). They're both just something to click on in an email.

Another possibility, that would get even more people, is emailing a link to a website that will infect them.

Anything that doesn't require physical access will be done for the slightest of reasons, or none at all if they have the spare resources. It's like spammers sending millions of emails - it's cheap enough and will yield some results. Breaking in and installing a hardware keylogger is a different matter, because that requires a lot more work.
 
I highly doubt fat boy dave with his dell laptop will be getting anywhere. Hi-tech crime unit are a joke so we dont have anything to worry about.

In other words, their hacking is limited to the computers of stupid people with unsecured wireless networks. I can defy the power of the state simply by refusing to open an attachment or using a wired network. Pathetic.

Big Brother is watching you, but he still has no idea what most of you are doing - and he's not likely to, with these amateurish tactics!

Not really, "3 year prison sentence", you can get that just for having bdsm porn on your computer under the new "extreme pornography" laws.
