A lot of talk on the forum about this recently, just wanted to gauge public opinion.

Mods if we could have a poll with the following options please:
- Yes it's great I love it
- Don't know yet still in my 'training period'
- It's ok, my speeds are a bit up and down
- No I hate it, why did I upgrade!
- I still haven't taken the plunge

Cheers,

Yeh I've heard reports of that. Because of all the contention issues and stuff SNR values seem to drop loads for me in the evenings. Have checked my router stats before and seen an SNR of 1db!

I've heard that telephone usage can have a detrimental effect during the training period. Is it worth me diverting my calls to my other phone line?

Having heard that, does it reduce your SNR or something?

A very good idea for a poll

If we get one, come on mods :p

Thanks for participation all. By the looks of the poll (although it isn't a huge represenation) the response was as I thought, not a vast majority satisfied at the moment with their ADSL Max service and quite a few still reluctant to move over until the 'problems' either become less significant or go away.

Keep voting if you haven't!

Also, are those that are happy with their MAX service and getting good speeds consistently on rural exchanges (as far you know)? Just interested to see if there is a correlation.

Cheers,

Any help on a guesstimate?

Well your stats aren't great but you *might be able* to receive 1.8-2.6Mbps according to this but, it depends on a lot of factors so don't think that the speed quote is guaranteed.

Ok total n00b here...

I'm jammed on an agonising 1 meg line, and reading this ADSL max thing has got me excited...

Don't get too excited just yet. If you look at the poll, the result of upgrades to ADSL Max (thus far) are not entirely positive. It can take a while for your line to stabalise (if it does!).
