Gameplay....
CS:S has got to be up there at the top with regards to gameplay. It's a load of fun, you can play the game on your own or as a team. Play fast, play slow, be a ninja, be a sniper, what ever. Poor layout... are you blind? The levels are excellent, extremely well lay out. Plus you can have custom maps...
There are no kids shouting down mics on good servers.
Who cares about achievements and levels. You show how good you are by killing as many people as you can on the level! Not 'oooo look at me I'm a level 46 master sergeant'.
Mindlessly boring - You must take a lot to be excited.
this is exactly why it's a better game cam your comparing graphics and acheivements which are at the end of the day irreletive to how good the game is although it does help CSS is just better thats why it's so legendary.

I'm just lol'ing at the fact you think the lack of perks, level ups and achievements* is a bad thing. CS:S is just pure shooter; MW2 is not.
*I do believe achievements are actually being implemented when they release the updated version of CS:S, though.
True but most CSS players won't give a crap about them unlike the MW2 kiddies with the 2nd prestige or whatever it's called.

cs:s is a better game, but i play mw2 more because it doesnt involve too much thinking or effort

No perks, no artillery, no helicopters, no BOOM-FACIAL through solid walls, fairer weapons.
This is even with CSS's dire hitboxes, hit registration and the stupid amount of bugs that haven't been fixed in 5years.

CSS - Balanced maps, balanced weapons, Good money system that you can use tactically
COD - stupidly over cluttered maps, unlockable weapons making the game completely unbalanced until everyone on the server has played it for hours and hours, LOLWHATHELICOPTER?!
End of the day COD is designed for the 12 - 17 year olds of today that are growing up on crap games that try so hard to give you a feeling of accomplishing something, cs/css is for people who grew up with good games and know that truly accomplishing something is simply one deaging someones face. We don't need achievements to give us a feeling of self satisfaction, all we need is one fat bullet or one cheeky gap shot down mid!
