@stoosh

I appreciate your genuine concern about a smaller N6. Fortunately I have big hands and the N6 will be a perfect fit.. I for one will really appreciate the larger screen display as I use my Nexus for work, content consumption and watching video.

However, Google has never launched two Nexus smartphones at the same time because that would run counter to their stated aim for the past few years, which is to choose one of their OEM partners and to showcase a particular phone that has already appeared and to modify it to accomodate their new OS, in this case Android 5.0. It will be up to their OEM partners (eg, Moto, Lenovo, Sony, Samsung, LG, Huawei) to work with the new Nexus OS and form factor and to adapt it to other form factors. So expect one of their partners to adopt your size requirement.

I believe Google is saying to its partners something like this: "Look here, we have taken a Moto X phablet--first time we have gone phablet size, optimised it to our software requirements, introduced 5,000 new APIs for our developers to think Android first, and challenged the new Apple premium priced product for a slightly lower price to boot. Moreover we intend to bring 5.0 to a low cost and low spec Android One device in emerging markets (the next billion users) at a sub-$100 price, so ok OEMs, have fun and take our efforts into your planning and production."

With the upcoming Moto x 2014 i am shocked they didnt just rebrand it as a nexus 5 rebrand released alongside the 6. I know that there is a market for the phablets but i think anyone would admit that at least in america and europe it isnt the largest market share so it makes little sense not to refresh the 5 alongside the 6.

Why rebrand the Moto X. It's pretty much stock Android anyway. Could be a good alternative to the Nexus 6 if you find it too big. Granted battery may not be big enough for some though the Nexus 6 battery isn't as big as maybe expected and with that big screen may not last much longer than the Moto X. Personally if a phone will do the day that is good enough for me.

I voted 1.Yes. Maybe should have waited until handled one but pretty sure it'd be too big for my tastes. New Moto X may be too for that matter (and not handled one of those either). But, each to their own. Doubt Motorola would not have been too keen on building a Nexus phone to compete directly with the new Moto X though reality is they all compete for our dosh anyway

Anything above 6" is basically a tablet, I thought the OnePlus One was too big and now Google release this.

I wouldn't get too excited about the specs either, Snapdragon 805 with a 1440p display provides the same performance as Snapdragon 801 at 1080p in games.

So basically no performance increase where it counts, we already have plenty of CPU performance.

No... Pefect for me... To many men with girls hands in this thread

I'm willing to bet you're tiny compared to Freefaller, who also thinks this phone is too big:p

5" is as big as a phone needs to be. 6" is ridiculous. I would need to wear a coat constantly to transport a 6" phone.

Want to try it first or atleast a similar size phone.

I consume a lot of media on my phone and as such like a big screen but need to know if 6" is too much.

Considering a tablet but the 6 might just be best of both worlds.

For anyone unsure but you've seen, held etc an iphone 6 plus in person this may help. It's a picture of a nexus 6 next to an iphone 6 plus (and iphone 6)

I do think it's too big but I could live with it. I find anything under 5" too small now. Problem is if I get one it will put my Nexus 7 out of business.

Are you a dwarf with children's clothes or somthing? Really strange comment to make..

I laughed at his comment regards the coat. Be a right pain on a hot day :D

Anyway, a 'man bag' is the way forward ;)

6.3" size 13 feet, 18.7 stone and not overweight ... How dies that sit?

HUGE! Dude, it's time to diet....

I kid I kid! ;)

Ultimately it is each to their own, N5 is perfect for me, but an N6 may be perfect for you. As long as it does the job you're after.

For me and a lot of people phablets are just too big. :)

well i held a iphone6plus and did not think it felt massive and seeing the n6 and iphoneplus side by side it should be good for me.

tbh hand size has nout to do with it, the Asian market love the massive phones and they are tiny people with tiny hands :D

It's funny how we adapt really. Remember when HTC ONE X came out I thought it was a monster and that my trousers would fall down :D Now it's more a compact phone.

Yeah exactly.

What's funny is at work when I had a note 3 people would take the absolute pee out of me, those same people have iPhone 6 plus handsets

The acceptable size has definitely shifted. The original note was slated by many due to the size, and that stood in at 5.3 inches. Yet a few years in and now peeople are almost at the stage where a phone just over 5 inches is "small".

Of course you're right, it just depends on what you want. Whilst I borrowed a Note 3 for a few weeks, the battery life and browsing was great, but it was just less subtle than a smaller phone.

It is down to what you want, but as you say the Asian market loves the big phones, I think for me the "smart" side of a phone is a nice to have, I still predominantly use my phone as a communication device rather than much else!

I could use the Note 3 just about with one hand but it was a little awkward.
