A friend of mine always smashes up her furniture when she's depressed.

She's a shelf-harmer.

Funny or not, I can't tell. I understand how I deliver things has a huge outcome on whether or not people laugh...

Use it, but experiment on the best type of delivery.

RM for instance might damage the joke, whereas using Citylink may mean it never arrives at all.
