Toilet, what a fun Friday night topic amirite?

You know the buttons. The one that says "push me to destroy all the dolphins and kittens in the world" and the one that says "push me if you like saving the planet and are probably a vegan".

One's a full flush, the other is a half.

As someone who was a maintenance plumber for years, including in Brixton Prison for four months, I can safely say that my fingerprints aren't on a single vegan button on the face of the earth.

There is a case to be made for saving the dolphins though, so tell me GD, tell me all about your toilet habits.

Do you press the vegan button, or are you rock 'ard and go full metal on the big one?

I use the big button but try to push it in only half way to get a semi flush rather than a full on waterfall.

Totally forgot it even does this tbh. Had to go look at it to see if I even have a small button. It does, and looks like this:

I should start using it, the water company is taking the mick doubling prices recently, the vegan button is probably a way to cut water use by a fair bit that wouldn't affect my life at all.

I think it's the design of the button that makes people not use it, not the functionality. If they gave us two buttons with labels "standard flush", "double flush" then it would get used. "Half flush" just sounds insufficient, and small button gives the same feeling.

If it's yellow let it mellow.

My toilet has this exact button configuration but as far as I can tell the vegan button isn’t connected so every flush is a proper one.

I have this exact button too and I've only ever used the big button.
