Sorry I know nothing about ATI cards, I'm a NV fanboy, but I dont knock anything till Ive tired it :p

Which ATI offering are we looking at that will have simular performance to the GTX280 or isnt there going to be one?

I would've thought that the 4870 X2 would probably outperform the GTX280 by a bit given the results of the GTX 280. That card's not supposed to come out for another 7-8 weeks, though.

The more info you get the more to me it seems that AMD/ATI is the way to go. I will probably wait a few months tho as I'm still paying for my new tv.

According to AMD, two 4850's will give you 30% more performance than a GTX280.

But that's probably at 1280 x 1024 res only though.

Given the becnhmarks that are out and continue to be run hints from review sites sceptisim of the 4850 seems a bit redundant now. Read the results and see for yourself i guess if your really that brand loyal to nvidia you can come back and call it all lies or a conspiracy whatever.
