Thin women can be very attractive. Pencil thin women (as Muban has very kindly demonstrated) I find unattractive. I'm going to bring up my Lindsay Lohan example again (though without images I'm afraid). She used to be beautiful, now she looks almost ill she is that thin.

I agree with the bad role model point as well, however that was not the OPs question.

I've got to say I'm really not surprised by the results and also think that if it was spread to the whole of the UK, you would get a similar percentage. So why then do fashion, use skinny girls. When the majority like curves.

I agree. However I don't know the mentality of teenage girls... however these sort of pictures are plastered everywhere where they can see it. Most adult women I know would like to lose a few pounds but no more - most adult women are happy with their figures "in general" - or have come to accept the way they are and are comfortable in themselves. It comes down to psychology really.
