Aiming in games is more like pointing than looking. Therefore, to aim at something above my field of vision, I would move the mouse up, exactly in the same way that I would move my cursor on the desktop up to click on an icon above it.
With an inverted mouse, to target something above your field of vision, you're moving the mouse down. It's not like to target something in Windows above where your cursor is situated, you move your mouse down.
Inverting mice is weird, unless you're playing a flight sim.
