Last time I checked Intel was ahead of AMD for gaming, maybe not by a lot and maybe that will change with zen 3 and I also enjoying overclocking which is something I've missed with AMD.
I'm not about to sell my AM4 board to buy another AM4 board when my current board was marketed to work with zen3. I'll either stick with what I have till AM5 and put the £500 which was earmarked for the 4900x into getting a 3080ti instead of a 3080, grab an LGA1200 or get the 4900x if AMD changes their mind with regards to support once they see the sales figures of zen 3.

Depends if the bigger rom chip boards get "unofficially supported" some will tank some might go up in value

im cool anyways on x570 and my board spec says "256Mb AMI UEFI Legal BIOS with GUI support"

Using an RTX2080Ti at 1080p and ignoring 3960X/3970X :p . And even if the reviewers go to the trouble to overclock the Intel CPUs, they do nothing about the AMD ones. Not even activating CPPC!!!!!!!

Well we shall see how Intel performs when Win 10 - 2004 is out with a much better scheduler and hard coded into the kernel all the Intel security patches.
And we see already 10000 series is slower than the 9000 series with 1909 build, because has part of the security patches in the bios.

I do play some fps at 1080p so maybe I would get some benefit but either way I shall sit on the fence and see how all this plays out before making a decision.
 
I would have loved to splurge out on a high end 4000 series, but MSI's website was clearly talking shog dit when it came to future compatibility on B450 boards.
I haven't voted as I only have a 3600 currently, but I may buy a 3950x when they are 'old hat' next year :).

You may still get support as AMD tend to flip flop a lot when it comes to making decisions.
 
i got my 3900x for £150, no chance ill be moving away for at least 5yrs. providing its still going of course
