I was planning to, but after further consideration unless it offers a >25% boost in performance after overclocking I will likely end up waiting for Haswell.

Will definitely be buying an Ivy Bridge laptop though.

I don't even plan upgrading from my i5 760 as it does everything i ask it to with ease. Probably going to wait until the new socket hits in 2013. I can't really see any reason that anybody with a Sandybridge 2500/2600/2700k would change either.

I don't see the point considering IB is just a die shrink of SB with a few extra tweaks. Performance gains won't be that massive.

Very likely, as I'm still on 775/Q6600. Depends on the price of the new chip, plus O/C potential Vs an i5 Sandy.

Yes

I have recently upgraded from an i7 930 x58 > i7 2700k z68 so an Ivy seems the logical choice for me

The only issue I have at the minute is with the chipset. The non X series seems very flakey (to me anyway). I personally like the bulletproof nature of X series chipsets.

Opens up PCIe3 also for those with compatible boards... I'm contemplating it.. but tbh need a new monitor and gfx card 1st i think.

I know but for most people playing games, if they already have an i5 with a decent graphics card theres no way your going to notice 60 v 68 fps (for comparison sake;) )
